Excursion 1: Supercomputer Fugaku Tour (Japanese-Language Tour)
Date & Time: Tuesday, October 27, 2026 | 10:30–11:30
Fugaku is one of the world's fastest and most advanced supercomputers, jointly developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu. It is used for a wide range of scientific research, including AI, drug discovery, disaster prevention, and climate simulations. This tour provides an opportunity to learn about Fugaku and visit one of the world's leading supercomputing facilities.

Tour Information
- This tour will be conducted in Japanese (ツアーは日本語で行われます).
- The maximum number of participants is 70.
- Date & Time: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 10:30–11:30
- Please bring your GCCE 2026 name badge and gather in the lobby of the RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) by 10:20.

- From the Kobe International Conference Center, take the Port Liner bound for Kobe Airport and get off at “P08: Keisan Kagaku Center (Kobe Animal Kingdom, Fugaku Mae)” Station, which is two stops away. RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) is a short walk from the station. The total travel time from the Kobe International Conference Center is approximately 20–30 minutes.

- Introduction to Supercomputer Fugaku, including a video showcasing its research achievements (approximately 30 minutes)
- Guided tour of Fugaku and Q&A session (approximately 30 minutes)
Notes
- The tour will be conducted by the staff of the Center for Computational Science and will provide a general introduction to the facility.
- Visitors will view Fugaku through observation windows.
- Visitors are also welcome to explore the exhibition area on the first floor, which includes displays on quantum computers and other research topics.

Excursion 3: Atake-maru 1st Cruise Tour
Date & Time: Tuesday, October 27, 2026 | 17:45–18:30
Step aboard the Atake-maru, a traditional-style sightseeing cruise modeled after the magnificent ships once used by Japanese shoguns. Enjoy a relaxing cruise around Kobe Harbor with spectacular views of the city skyline, Port Tower, and the Rokko Mountains. This unique experience offers a glimpse into Japanese history while showcasing the beauty of Kobe from the sea.

- Participants are requested to make their own way to the cruise departure point and board the vessel.
